To evaluate the effect of different forms of yoga on improving sleep quality of breast cancer patients. Methods: A computer search was conducted on CNKI, VIP, Wanfang, PubMed, MedLine, CINAHL, EMbase, theCochraneLibrary and other databases. Two researchers screened the literatures, extracted the data and evaluated the quality of the included literatures. Meta-analysis of each subgroup was performed by RevMan5.3 software. Results: A total of 9 randomized controlled trials were included. The results showed that yoga individual intervention was effective in improving sleep [SMD = -0.43, 95%CI (-0.78, -0.07), P = 0.02], and yoga intervention focusing on mindfulness meditation [SMD = -0.55, 95%CI (-1.08, -0.03), P = 0.04] was more effective in improving sleep than yoga intervention focusing on body posture and breathing [SMD = -0.52, 95%CI (-1.03, 0.00), P = 0.05]. Yoga practice 2 or 3 times a week significantly improved sleep quality [SMD = -0.70, 95%CI (-1.29, -0.12), P = 0.02]. The sleep improvement effect after yoga intervention was significant [SMD = -0.49, 95%CI (-0.80, -0.18), P = 0.002], and the other subgroups had no statistical significance in the improvement of sleep quality (P > 0.05). Conclusions: Existing evidence shows that one-on-one intervention, type of mindfulness meditation intervention, intervention 2 or 3 times per week are effective in improving sleep quality, and the short-term effect of yoga is significant. More long-term, high-quality studies are needed in the future to test its effectiveness on sleep quality.
